Thank you to all suppliers who completed "Initial Load" in Q1 2013!

GDSN® Initiative

In 2012, Target completed the rollout of our new Item Management (IMN) system. That system has the capability to take advantage of many of the benefits that the GDSN has to offer. Target is currently synchronizing item data with many of our suppliers. In 2013, Target plans to significantly increase the total number of suppliers utilizing the GDSN as they conduct business with Target. Target’s goal is to establish GDS as the preferred method of item setup and maintenance leading to improved efficiencies and item accuracy. That includes developing a scalable and repeatable supplier connection program that provides a positive experience for all of Target’s supplier community. We will be contacting many of you throughout the course of 2013.

Suppliers can leverage the GDSN for both new item introduction and item maintenance with Target. Suppliers that leverage our GDS new item introduction process can save significant time and manual effort. Roughly half of the attributes that Target requires for new items can be supplied via GDS – saving approximately four minutes of supplier manual data entry in our Item Management system (IMN) per new item.

Target is excited about partnering with 1WORLDSYNC® and its suppliers on further enhancing the supply chain process by leveraging Global Data Synchronization (GDS).
